Don't be swayed by large Disc Jockey companies offering many different types of DJ setups and boasting that they have 20 or more employees. Bigger is not always better. Allow me to explain why.
I will often receive calls from prospective clients stating that they do not wish to go with a "larger company" due to an experience a friend or family member encountered in the past.
Beware Of Multiple Packages
I know what sounds the best and so do you. However, do you know the difference between the companies Shure, Audio Technica, Peavey, Crown, Crest and American Audio? Most likely not. Larger companies pray on this and "up selling" is where they make their bread and butter. We offer a top-notch sound system which provides a full, high-quality sound when delivered at any music volume set. If you see a DJ showcase pictures of multiple packages, and their "lower level" packages look extremely unimpressive, this is the first sign of something wrong. Would you showcase something that looks horrible to prospective clients? Probably not, unless your intention all along was to "upgrade" them to a larger package - which coincidentally still does not hold a candle to the sound system we bring with us to every event we host.
Meet Your Disc Jockey / Master of Ceremony
This is the #1 concern you should have. Make sure, no matter whom you decide to go with, that you meet with, or at least speak to, the actual Disc Jockey or Master of Ceremony who will be at your event. Many larger companies hire various individuals whom you will never meet with until your event, or after you have already booked your event. This is the person who will be in charge of almost everything you and your guests encounter during your event.
A proper Disc Jockey / Master of Ceremony will provide you with the following:
- Setup arrangements handled with event staff
- Coordination of all event staff, including servers, bar staff and photographers, to insure a smooth transition throughout the evening
- A professional and well-groomed appearance
- Professional microphone skills
- Extensive knowledge of equipment being operated
- Extensive music knowledge
- Adherence to all contracted music selections
- Professional attention to the details you want to incorporate into your event
Please bear these items in mind while booking entertainment for your event. We want to help you create memorable events - in a good way!
